'de erfgenamen' 2020 - 2024
De erfgenamen is een serie van archetypische wezentjes ontstaan sinds maart 2020, toen de tijd stil leek te staan, maar de urgentie van het veranderen van de wereld zich nog duidelijker voordeed. Behalve dat je deze verandering in het dagelijks leven probeert om te zetten in daden kan het niet anders dan dat het ook in je kunst tot uiting komt.
Aan de serie kleine beeldjes 'let’s save the world', van een aantal jaren geleden, heb ik een vervolg gegeven in het platte vlak. Schetsjes uit die tijd heb ik veranderd, aangevuld en gebruikt als uitgangspunt voor deze nieuwe serie. Een bonte stoet van superwezentjes en reddende engeltjes diende zich aan. Ze kregen allemaal een toepasselijke naam, met ieder z’n eigen betekenis.
De figuurtjes in de serie erfgenamen lijken zich in een eindeloze ruimte te bevinden, zonder grenzen. Behalve acrylverf zijn ook textiel en papierknipsels gebruikt, die soms weer overschilderd zijn maar als structuur zichtbaar blijven.
De erfgenamen is een serie in wording, die nog wel door zal groeien.
